We hope you and your family are staying healthy and safe! In these unprecedented times, quarantine or lockdown may have a different meaning to each one of us.
For some, the quarantine times are optimal. A moment of reflection, re-connection, easy in flip flops, with a cocktail or coffee, reading their favorite novel, watching movies, catching up on the long list of pending items, excellent time spent with their families, cooking and tasting your favorite dishes.
For others, this is a situation of desperate financial & family crisis, endless loneliness, starvation, itching to get back to work after losing jobs, spending 2-3 hours/day to educate their children on top of a 10-12 hour workday. In worst scenarios, some may have experienced the near-death due to the virus; some have already lost their loved ones from it.
Whilst for our Frontline workers, this has been very challenging times. Being isolated from their families, they spend long hours in the hospital with COVID patients. Many frontline workers are reporting an increase in depressive symptoms, anxiety, insomnia, distress, and trauma-related disorders through direct contact with patients, as well as through vicarious trauma of other frontline workers’ experiences with COVID-19. It is important that these Frontline workers should know that they are valued and appreciated for all that they are doing and sacrificing for the better of our community and are keeping safe as well for future generations.
We as TSKGians are fortunate to have retained our jobs and are staying safe from this pandemic situation. We would like to call upon our like-minded TSKGians in giving back to our community and help this cause with Donations !!!
